ONE-ers Are Winners is an original publication by Lale H. Rostovsky, winner of the "Logical Thought Medal, First Place, 2008." This is a prize given by CONREG to innovative thinkers.

Lale H. Rostovsky is a former R&D scientist who works as a business analyst in the midwest. She is married with children, and the owner of 2 cats, 3 dogs, and a parrot.

Summary 

In the mid-late 1980s, so many people bought into that ‘low fat, high carb’ lifestyle pushed so hard by the U.S. government, not to mention dozens of “diet gurus.”  The ONE-ers publication details the story of one woman who gained more than 6 sizes on this "diet."

...at the time, I wanted to lose about 10 pounds.

But, 5 years later, I had gone up 6 sizes, from a 12 to a 20. It took me a full 15 years of frustration before having a simple and down-to-earth insight that allowed me to lose all the extra weight – I mean fat – in about 8 months. The booklet shares this insight in detail. It is the culmination of more than a decade of study on why people become fat, and a practical, simple, common-sense, painless, and effective way to lose the fat – for good.

I am now back to a size 11-12 and feel (and look) so very good. My goal is for everyone who is now in my former (fat) shoes to lose their frustration as well as their unwanted fat, and look and feel as good as I do now.

Had it not been for a truly simple realization - literally on the spot - I would certainly still be way too heavy, despite aerobicizing myself blue in the face for months or years at a time, lifting weights consistently, and of course, there was THE FOOD. Constantly on my mind! Food, food, food! I was constantly tweaking it (type, content, calories, fat, protein, carbs). You name it, I tried to tweak it this way and that, the way du jour. Truly exhausting. Does this sound familiar?

I had rarely been a fad dieter, and I never took pills or starved myself, but the results I wanted eluded me for years, despite strong, consistent efforts that truly were what a person was supposed to do. Frustrated beyond belief, I covered all the bases by going to several doctors. Despite my best hopes, there was no medical basis for the lack of results, either.

So, if I was so dedicated, so persevering, and seemed to be doing it all correctly, and there was no medical basis for being overfat, WHY couldn’t I lose it earlier? Why did it take so long to figure it out?
